Bringing young scientific talent to Zurich
As a foundation, we are also firmly committed to promoting young talent. The Department currently has two graduate schools, the Zurich Graduate School of Economics (Zurich GSE) and the Marlene Porsche Graduate School of Neuroeconomics, enabled by a generous donation by Marlene Porsche, since deceased. We provide scholarships to enable students to study in one of these outstanding programs. We thus increase the number of highly qualified graduates who contribute their skills and knowledge to local companies and institutions.

“We know very little about why people behave as they do, why they decide as they do. This should be the subject of research, and this research deserves to be supported.”

Marlene Porsche, President of the Marlene Porsche Foundation

Marlene Porsche Graduate School of Neuroeconomics

Exploring the biological and neural mechanisms of decision making

The Marlene Porsche Graduate School of Neuroeconomics was launched in 2017, enabled by a donation by the Marlene Porsche Foundation. The interdisciplinary degree program in the cuttingedge field of Neuroeconomics has a strong scientific focus, with the goal of enabling students to become independent researchers of the highest caliber. Its faculty consists of internationally renowned scholars with expertise in behavioral economics, neuroimaging, neuropharmacology, brain stimulation techniques, and computational modeling.
